      Etymology: "Beorn, a character from J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit, is known for his massive size; in reference to the significant premolar and molar inflation of this taxon when compared to Conacodon delphae, the largest documented species of Conacodon." (op. cit., p. 580).
